Moto Guzzi Galletto
The ingenious vehicle invented by Carlo Guzzi, which combines the practicality of a scooter with the stability and safety of high wheels, will be celebrated and admired in a dedicated exhibition located in the piazza in front of the factory where it was created.
Exhibition of the Circuito del Lario
Not far from Mandello lies the legendary, challenging and marvellous Circuito del Lario, where the motorcycles prepared by Moto Guzzi’s racing department have often won. This circuit will be celebrated during the rally with an exhibition at the Oratorio San Lorenzo in Piazza Giovanni XXIII.
Historic Motorcycle Exhibition
Don’t miss this incredible exhibition of racing and historic motorbikes that have made Moto Guzzi history! In Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, behind the monument to the man who created them, you can admire their timeless beauty and even hear them start up and roar to life! On display will be jewels such as the C4V, Dondolino, Bicilindrica, Moto Guzzi 350 twin-shaft 8-cylinder and many more.
Fashion and Motor Show
On Saturday afternoon, Piazza Italia will host the meeting between the beautiful Polisportiva girls and the stunning Moto Guzzi motorbikes that will accompany them in the captivating Fashion and Motor Show. This event has become an essential part of the rally.
Mercatino dell’Aquila
If you’re looking for a bargain, the Mercatino dell’Aquila (Guzzi flea market), hosted at the Oratorio San Lorenzo in Piazza Giovanni XXIII, is the perfect place to find one.
ASI
In front of the Moto Guzzi factory the Automotoclub Storico Italiano will be officially present. They offer dedicated events and information on historic vehicle registration (in Italy) and any other advice on historic vehicles.
Beroggi’s motorbike exhibition
Silvano Beroggi, a former Moto Guzzi employee, is another individual who cannot shake off his passion for Larian motorbikes. After working in the factory, he decided to start creating them artistically. Thus were born the Airone 250 and the Galletto, both of which are made from iron wire. They will be exhibited in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, in front of the town hall. Not to be missed!
Motocarri Exhibition
Moto Guzzi’s three-wheeled vehicles have played a significant role in the history of both the brand and hard-working post-war Italy, transporting all kinds of materials. They are also fascinating, as you can see by visiting the dedicated exhibition in Via Bertola.
Norge
The legendary motorbike ridden by Giuseppe ‘Naco’ Guzzi on his famous solo journey to the North Cape in 1928, which established the genre of grand tour motorbikes, is now scrupulously guarded by the Moto Club Carlo Guzzi. It will also be on display in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci.
3×3 Mechanical Mule and V7 Police Sidecar
Last year’s successful event is being repeated: the Moena Police Alpine Training Centre and the Padua Police Corps will be present in Via Manzoni. This gives us the opportunity to admire one of the most unusual vehicles ever to come out of the Mandello factory up close: the 3×3 Mechanical Mule. It will be accompanied by two V7 Police Sidecars, demonstrating the strong link between the army and the police force with Moto Guzzi.
Exhibition: “Speed and Vision: The Life of Giulio Cesare Carcano between Boats and Engines”.
Giulio Cesare Carcano was a key figure in the world of motorbikes, having designed and developed some of Moto Guzzi’s most iconic models, but he was also renowned for his work in boat design. The exhibition will open on Thursday 11 September in Piazza Garibaldi.
Mandello al Museo
Photography has immense power: it captures moments in time and speaks a universal language that knows no boundaries. Mandello al Museo is a photographic project on display at the Sala Polifunzionale del Lido. It brings together the places and collections of numerous Guzzi enthusiasts, as well as the many faces photographed at the Moto Guzzi Museum. The project aims to preserve the collective memory of an industrial production that is important all over the world.
”Viaggio oltre la meta”: the film
On Thursday evening, the documentary film on Moto Guzzi will be screened at the Municipal Theatre in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci. Focusing on the journey as growth, discovery and sharing, it is the ideal sequel to the first film, “Il coraggio di andare oltre”.
Guided tour of the Maggiana Tower
During the rally, the Associazione Gruppo Amici di Maggiana will be offering guided tours of the famous 12th-century Maggiana Tower, where Frederick Barbarossa once stayed. Visitors will be able to enjoy the museum and the splendid view of the surrounding area.
Museum Tour
On Thursday 7 September, the first day of the rally, the Gruppo Amici di Maggiana will take anyone who doesn’t want to give up their motorbike on a tour of Mandello, Abbadia, Val d’Esino and Valsassina. The highlight of the Motoraduno Internazionale Città della Moto Guzzi evenings will be the rock ‘n’ roll, mainly at the main stage in Piazza Garibaldi, but not only there. Viale Medaglie Olimpiche will become the street of marvels for three days, lined with stands displaying customised magnificent and unique creations based on Moto Guzzi bikes Prepare to be amazed!
Le Vie del Naco – Great Travellers
In Piazza Garibaldi, you can hear the tales and experiences of great travellers who ride Moto Guzzi at the dedicated stand. This is a great opportunity to learn about the sense of freedom and the beauty of the world as seen from a motorcycle seat.
The lottery
As always, the event will close with the drawing of the winners of the Motoraduno Internazionale Città della Moto Guzzi raffle prizes: first prize is a Moto Guzzi V7 Stone with an exclusive livery; second prize is an 800-euro travel voucher; third prize is a Moto Guzzi jacket; fourth prize is a branded Moto Guzzi helmet; and fifth prize is a Moto Guzzi leather top case!
Motoraduno Città della Moto Guzzi
The Motoraduno Città della Moto Guzzi emblem unites the group of associations involved in organising events and hospitality throughout Mandello del Lario, including the Polisportiva Mandello Association, the I Laghée Motorcycling Association, the Cooperativa Sociale Incontro Onlus, the Mandellese Corpo Musicale, and the Canottieri Moto Guzzi. There will also be collaboration with the Mandello del Lario Municipal Administration, of course. There will be two information stands selling gadgets and raffle tickets at the entrance to the Moto Guzzi factory and in Piazza Garibaldi.
RECEPTION
One thing Guzzi people can always count on is the quality of the welcome provided by the Motoraduno Internazionale Città della Moto Guzzi. The main food area in Piazza Garibaldi will be flanked by several other refreshment points to satisfy the appetites (and thirst) of Guzzi people.
